Ickburgh School

Ickburgh School is statutorily required to have a Climate Action Plan in place. However, Ickburgh School has a long established commitment to environmentalism, being the first and only special school to achieve the Eco Award locally. The below is in place to continue to build upon this work to ensure the school works as sustainably as possible. This is closely aligned with our school vision of “Belonging” and our curriculum commitments to our young people understanding the environment and how to protect it. It also represents opportunities for financial savings, as we look for efficiencies in our school management and day-to-day running. The below was supported with the input of a Let's Go Zero adviser who visited and audited our current approaches, and the school is a committed and active member of the local Climate Sustainability Network to support this work and share best practice with local settings.
